Travel Writer, Radio Host, Chiropractor, Global Women’s Activist

Dr. Sharon Ufberg is a freelance journalist who writes first-person travel stories for Thrive Global and The Huffington Post and is a radio host who interviews women who uplift the human spirit and make a difference in the world. She regularly contributes these interviews to NPR’s 51%, A Woman’s Perspective WAMC radio show as a featured host on her own segment, Force of Nature.

As a chiropractor and senior integrative health practitioner, she is past Chair of the California State Board of Chiropractic Examiners and a prior Board Member on the Council for Chiropractic Education. Dr. Ufberg was formerly an Adjunct Professor at Beth Israel Medical Center’s Continuum Center for Health and Healing in New York City.

As a seasoned international leader and activist in the areas of women’s health and safety, economic self-sufficiency, domestic violence, and human trafficking, Dr. Ufberg has served as a delegate to the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women and is the past chairperson of Project Kesher, the largest nongovernmental women’s organization of the former Soviet Union and a board member of World ORT, a global education network.

Ufberg is the co-founder of the personal growth and wellness company Borrowed Wisdom. She and her daughter, Alexis Sclamberg privately coached, trained, and guided individuals in clarifying and achieving their personal and professional aspirations.

A New York City transplant, Dr. Ufberg now lives in Hermosa Beach, California has a daily yoga practice, and prides herself on being an awesome cook and wine connoisseur.
